Update on Parking Enforcement

Posted on: May 23rd, 2020

Whether you agree or not there is a formal Parking Policy in place that was adopted in 2016 after many months of debate. The membership voted to approve the policy. The policy was incorporated into the original governing documents and then amended several times. The policy is intended both for safety and aesthetics. It is the obligation of the community to enforce the policy and that duty has continues to be fulfilled for many years.

The board is very aware of how the pandemic has impacted everyone here in one way or another. Many owners may have relatives or children with them and that has increased the number of vehicles parked on the street. Private Security, our security patrol company, conducts a random patrol at night to perform parking enforcement and to deter crime. Since mid-March they have not towed any vehicles (unless they were parked next to a fire hydrant) because of the additional burdens imposed on everyone during this health crisis as it relates to parking. They continue however to track all violations recorded by vehicle.

Beginning on Monday, June 23rd (unless health restrictions change) vehicles that have been placed on the three month Tow List and continue to be out of compliance with the Parking Policy will be towed. Now is the time to adjust vehicle parking plans or ask for assistance.

Also, just a reminder that any vehicle parked within 15 feet of a fire hydrant will be towed immediately so please do not park in such areas. It is an enormous public safety issue and is not only in violation of our Parking Policy but also city and state laws.
