Update on the Street Resealing Project

Posted on: August 1st, 2019

The community is nearly complete with resealing all of the streets with Apache Asphalt. There is one small section of Paseo de las Verdes that needs to be resealed and that work will be done early Saturday morning, August 3rd. Please avoid using Paseo de las Verdes that day to enter or exit the community. Use Paseo de las Flores. That section of the street will be re-opened Sunday morning.

Apache is is the process of fixing a number of spots where the sealant did not properly adhere to the road surface. As part of the clean-up process they will be pressure washing stamped concrete sections where the sealant was spread. Lastly, they will be painting STOP signs in the streets at key intersections and repainting red and yellow curbs.

This project reflects the strong focus on maintaining all of the infrastructure in good condition. The project was funded out of reserves so there will no special assessment. The streets should not have to be resealed for another five to six years and those costs are built into the formal annual reserve study.

The overall feedback from homeowners has been extremely positive.

The portion of Paseo de las Flores that was not resealed will be repaved by the City of Encinitas in the fall of this year. This agreement was reached as part of the recycled water project with the city Engineering Department.
