Donations needed to support ongoing appeal of Quail Meadows by ECRD

Posted on: February 17th, 2025

By now, everyone in Encinitas should know that the appeal to the Encinitas City Council to halt the Quail Meadows development was denied on Wednesday, February 12th. The council was forced into choosing the lesser of two very bad choices and in doing so, reluctantly approved the development. The Encinitas Citizens for Responsible Development (ECRD) coalition intends to pursue this matter further and appeal to the California Coastal Commission (CCC). To date there have already been a number of communications and direct discusssions between ECRD and the CCC.

ECRD has already incurred over $10,000 in uncovered legal fees to get to this point and they expect that an appeal to the CCC will require nearly ten times that amount or close to $100,000. There are only a few attorneys who have the experience and expertise to handle such appeals and their time is very expensive. So, help is needed in the form of donations. ECRD is soliciting donations from homeowners in all communities that adjoin Quail Gardens Drive including Encinitas Ranch and, the entire city of Encinitas.

If you have followed the news about the Quail Meadows development, you will understand that if built it will have immeasurable impacts on Encinitas Ranch including our quality of life, safety and traffic. Please help do your part and stand together with ECRD in these efforts by donating.
