Over the past ten years the community has engaged a licensed traffic engineer to review the street layout and develop recommendations to improve traffic control and reduce speeding. All of the key suggestions that were made have been implemented. You see many of these in the form of additional STOP signs, No Outlet signs, pedestrian crossing signs as well as a portable radar speed sign. The portable radar speed sign is moved around on a regular basis to various locations where speeding seems to be more of a problem.
Safety is of paramount importance to the community and the board takes it very seriously. However, everyone needs to follow the traffic signs and keep the speed of vehicles to 20 MPH or less. This also means making a full and complete stop at all STOP signs in particular at the intersection of Cypress Hills Drive, Shasta Drive and Samuel Court; the only four way stop in Encinitas Ranch.
Since nearly all of the streets in the community are private the Sheriff’s Department does not conduct random patrols. You will only see them if they are responding to a call.
