The Encinitas Ranch Golf Course continues to operate although a number of changes have been implemented to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.
- The golf course shop at the club house is open only to schedule a round of golf and/or pay for greens fees. Merchandise is not available for sale in the shop except for golf balls and tees.
- The Grill at the Ranch is only open for take out food or drinks.
- To provide for adequate social distancing electric golf carts must be rented or golf bags carried. Carts can only be used by single golfers unless two golfers are part of the same family.
- The golf course staff is taking extraordinary efforts to disinfect and clean all surfaces that a golfer might come in touch with on golf carts and in the club house.
- The restrooms adjacent to the 11th hole tee box and near the crosswalk on Paseo de las Flores have been locked and will be unavailable to everyone including all golfers.
- The March 26th Happy Hour has been canceled. The hope is that these monthly events will begin again in late April.
There is no reason at this time to avoid playing golf as long as you are mindful of these changes. We will keep you updated on other changes to golf course operations as they occur.
Finally, some homeowners may have noticed that graffiti was painted on one of the cell phone towers near the golf course maintenance shed off of Paseo de las Flores. This is a Verizon cell phone tower that appears to look like a water tower. The golf course immediately noticed this problem and asked Verizon to repaint the cell phone tower since they own the tower and have complete control over it. Verizon is apparently getting bids to repaint the tower and have been asked to act with a sense of urgency.
