The City of Encinitas Planning Commission heard from city staff, the public and the developer about the plans for the Quail Meadows development on Thursday, February 1st. The meeting lasted until 10 PM with no decisions made to approve, deny or request changes to the application. There were numerous excellent speakers who made very compelling arguments about serious issues with the developer’s plans. At the very end of the meeting the commission agreed to hold off on starting any deliberations on the project until Thursday, February 15th at 6 PM. The chair of the commission indicated that on the 15th the commission will not solicit any public comment. So, residents can attend but they cannot speak.
Homeowners are encouraged to attend as one of the powerful tools we have as a community is demonstrate our deep concerns and collective commitment in opposing the size and scale of the proposed development.
If a resident does attend we ask that they act respectfully with commission members and refrain from making rude or negative comments.
