As part of the city’s housing element approved by the city council in 2019, a 485 housing unit development will be built on the parcel of land on Quail Gardens Drive adjacent to the Jehovah’s Witnesses church. The current design calls for large five, six and seven story apartment buildings. The previous design had the development spread over four buildings but the developer has recently reduced the number of buildings to two to address other issues raised by the Planning Commission. If built as currently designed these would the largest and tallest buildings in Encinitas.
A neighborhood meeting hosted by the developer is planned for Wednesday, May 31st from 6 to 8 PM at the Encinitas City Hall located at 505 South Vulcan Avenue in downtown Encinitas to learn more and voice any concerns.
Below is the notice that was sent out to residents within close proximity to the planned development.
If you have any interest or opinion concerning this development you should consider attending.
