Upcoming major landscaping projects

Posted on: March 7th, 2026

The community will be undertaking two major landscaping enhancement projects in the next few months:

  1. The interior slope between Lynwood Drive and Verbana Court from Cascadia Lane to the southern trail referred to as Lot 14

The interior landscape slope strategy is to preserve views from top of the slopes and maintain privacy from below and to ultimately remove pine trees that require more maintenance and are susceptible to disease and pests. This will be achieved by planting mid-size trees at the bottom third of the slope along with patio size trees or large shrubs in the middle part of the slope and small shrubs or ground cover near the top.

The final phase of the interior Lynwood slope strategy Landscape will begin on March 23rd.  This area includes the interior slope between Verbena Court and Lynwood Drive from Cascadia Lane to Lot 14 (southernmost trail running east west in the south mesa).  High maintenance plant material (Honeysuckle, Lonicera, etc.) and plant material beyond its prime will be removed and replaced with ground cover (Osteospermum, Malephora and Rpsea) low growing shrubs (Bougainvillea, Vitex, Crassula and Tagetes)  and mid-sized and patio trees (Agonis, Arbutis, Duranta and Pittosporum) will be taking their place.

2. The entrance to the Devonshire development and south along Quail Gardens Drive to the trailhead that connects to Sidonia Street

The entry to the Devonshire development (north side and southern side) will also take place in the coming months.   Pickleweed, spent lantana and other unsightly shrubs will be removed on the southern slope and Duranta, Bougainvillea, Purple Lantana, Rosemary, Carissa Green Carpet, Osteospermum and Malephora will be installed to give the entry a more inviting and colorful appearance.

The areas to be renovated are shown in blue and green on the photo below.
