Upcoming road closures on Quail Gardens Drive

Posted on: October 22nd, 2024

Starting on Wednesday, October 23rd portions of Quail Gardens Drive (QGD) north of Leucadia Blvd. will be closed for approximately six weeks from Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM. These closures are being done to complete work that will build a pipeline that will connect the large water tank located above the golf course driving range to the recycled water line that runs under QGD. The objective of the project is to use the water tank to hold recycled water and to help with improving and stabilizing the water pressure in the main recycled water line beneath QGD.

The entire project is being led, managed and paid for by the San Elijo Joint Powers Authority (SEJPA) who is the local water authority that produces all of our recycled water.

The project will impact drivers intending to drive both north and south on Quail Gardens Drive north of Leucadia Blvd. For the first three weeks QGD will be closed to northbound traffic north of Lauren Court and south of Ranch Road. For the remainder of the six weeks the southbound lanes in that same area will be closed.

Electronic billboards have been placed in several locations along QGD to notifiy drivers of this work.

Drivers may need to consider alternate routes. Flagmen will be directing traffic through the entire project and regular updates will be provided. Please follow the directions from the flagmen.
