Due to intense lobbying over many years our community was finally able to convince the city to set aside this city owned parcel of land for a community park. For many years there was a strong belief that the city would use this land for affordable housing.
We thought a short update may be of interest.
We recently learned from the city manager that $750,000 in funds were allocated for the design of the park at L7. In addition, the city has allocated over $3M to pay for construction of the park.
They currently have a Request for Proposal (RFP) out for a consultant that will lead the effort for the design of the park. This is the same process that the city went through for Olympus Park. Submittals are due on 8/25/25. Afterwards, the city will be doing outreach with the community to gather feedback on what the residents want in this park.
