For those of you who drive by or play on the Encinitas Ranch Golf Course you noticed significant changes to the conditions on the course most notably the greens. The genesis of these problems started about two months ago when the water supply for reclaimed water was drastically reduced for several days. The water is supplied by the San Elijo Joint Powers Authority (SEJPA) through the San Dieguito Water District (SDWD). As a direct result of the decrease in water supply from SEJPA the golf course had to use water from one of their ponds located adjacent to the 13th hole. The quality of that water was extremely poor and resulted in portions of the course including all of the putting greens to look awful and created unplayable surfaces in some areas.

Below is a photo of a green that was moved in order to allow for the original green to recover. As an outcome, the golf course is currently offering a 35% discount on green fees. This will be in effect until such time where the course is able to recover.

The reduction in reclaimed water for the golf course also impacted Encinitas Ranch although not to the same extent. We were forced to alter our watering schedule which was normally at night to some daylight periods and in several locations our landscaping contractor, BrightView was forced to hand water. So, please be patient with the landscaping as it will recover nicely once the water pressure has been stabilized.
