Group is tracking plans for Quail Meadows Apartments

Just southwest of Encinitas Ranch — on the vacant property on Quail Gardens Drive opposite Kristen Court — a community group is tracking a development proposal from Baldwin & Sons that calls for between 400 and 450 housing units in two, four-story buildings. The original plans for the development called for two six-story builldings with underground parking. However, due to local opposition the developer reconsidered the size and agreed to reduce the height of the project and number of units.

Even at four stories, the buildings would be the tallest in all of Encinitas and bring inevitable impacts to traffic, parking and our quality of life.

The community group, Encinitas Citizens for Responsible Development (ECRD), seeks to downsize the project. You can stay up to speed on plans for Quail Meadows Apartments by visiting the ECRD website and subscribing to its newsletter.
