Within the next month the community will be removing a number of Afghan (alderica) pine trees which has either become diseased and/or interfering with the growth of parkway trees. This species of pine has proven to be very susceptible to the ghost canker fungus and there is no treatment or cure for them. Over the past few years we have had to remove a number of these trees due to this fungus. These trees are located on the eastern slope of Paseo de las Flores and on the slope between Jensen Court and Lynwood Drive. These trees were selected by both our certified arborist and our landscaping contractor. These trees will be replaced with other species that are not susceptible to disease and will not grow as tall.

This work will be performed by Enhanced Arbor Management who manages all of the trees within the community of which there are over 1700.
