Update on the Recycled Water Project

Posted on: April 28th, 2019

The major infrastructure project to provide recycled water to the entire south mesa of the community is nearing completion. Homeowners in the south mesa will have noticed work underway in the parkways which is one of the final steps of the project.

The county health department and water district require the community to demonstrate separation between the irrigation lines for the parkways and the water lines to the homes. In order to meet those requirements it requires BrightView to excavate around where the water lines overlap in the parkways, have the area inspected by the water district then pour a shallow concrete slab to cover over the lines. All of this work is expected to be completed in mid-May then there will be a series of additional tests and inspections before the transition to recycled water is complete. We anticipate finalcompletion by the end of May.

Once the change to recycled water is complete then Encinitas Ranch will not only save 20% in the cost for water for all of the common areas but we will have a long term sustainable supply of water that will allow us to water as much as we want, when we want even during serious droughts.
