Update on parking problems on Paseo de las Flores and Paseo de las Verdes

Posted on: May 21st, 2025

The board continues to solicit feedback from homeowners living in the south mesa and Devonshire about parking on Paseo de las Flores. There have been numerous concerns and complaints raised about safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and vehicles as well as quality of life. The board will pass along what is learned to the city to determine next steps.

The board wants to clarify that Fox Point Farms did meet all of the relevant local and state guidelines for onsite parking spaces for residents. However, it would appear, more could have been done to deal with excess offsite parking.

Additionally, city staff and council members are looking ahead to develop options for excess parking problems that may be encountered on Paseo de las Verdes as future planned developments for the southern end of Quail Gardens Drive are completed. There are over 800 housing units planned for this area and substantially less parking spaces that may be needed to accommodate all residents’ vehicles.

The board will keep homeowners aware of any significant developments regarding both streets which serve as the major access points to the south mesa.
